Go GoodFuel: 5-Minute Hummus

Hummus is not only a tasty dip and spread. It’s full of a wide variety of vitamins & minerals AND a great source of plant-based protein. That makes it a nutritious option for vegans and vegetarians.

GoodFuel: Hummus

Ingredients

  • 2 cup canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained
  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 cup cold water, or more if needed

Directions

  1. Place the ingredients, except the chickpeas into a food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Add chickpeas. Process for 3-4 minutes. Pause and scrape the sides down halfway.
  3. Continue until the hummus is smooth. If the consistency is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time.
  4. Taste and season with additional salt, cumin, and/or lemon juice if needed.
  5. Serve immediately, garnished with your desired toppings. Store in refrigerate for up to 3 days.
  6. Enjoy!
