Every year, getting fit and losing weight seem to rank among the most common new year’s resolutions. Come Jan. 1 or 2, the parking lots at local gyms are suddenly more crowded than they were just a month or two earlier, spinning classes are full and running groups crowd the paths through the UC Davis Arboretum. But by March or April, it’s easier to find that parking space at the athletic center or that open stationary bike at the gym. By June most people are stuck with only wishing they would have continued towards the goal they had set out to concur less than a year prior .
