We’ve got a good one for you today – this is something we get asked about all the time.

How long does it take to get results from your new health routine?

This email will lay it all out for you but we also want you to keep one important thing in mind:

Please do NOT get into the “crash” mindset, where you try to speed your way toward your goals.


That can end badly, with you feeling frustrated, stressed, overwhelmed … and then giving up.

It’s so much more rewarding (and healthier) to enjoy the process!

Plus, everything that you learn and experience along the way will help you KEEP all of your amazing results.


All of what we are about to say depends on a few factors, including:

  • Your health & fitness history
  • Your current health & fitness level
  • Any workouts you do
  • The food you eat
  • How stressed you are and how much sleep you’re getting
  • The distance between you and your goal

With all of that said: it’s fun to see and feel the results of all your efforts!

Plus, it can be incredibly empowering.

SAME-DAY RESULTS:

  • You might notice you feel less stressed, your mood is up, and you sleep better. You’ll feel proud of yourself for taking action!

RESULTS IN 1-3 WEEKS:

  • This is when you start to gain some momentum. If changing the number on the scale is a goal, you’ll start to notice that happen (if not sooner).

How to stay on track when you don’t have time

We recently caught up with a client who was frustrated because she felt everything in her life was going against her goals.

She has a tough job...her family life is hectic, and she now has some new responsibilities caring for her aging parents.

"I have absolutely no time," she told us. And what do you know?...

She’s right.


She has a TON on her plate.

So, we suggested that she change her mindset and… relax a bit.

This can be very difficult. It's not about turning their health habits "on" or "off." Instead, do your best now.

We talk to many people who are working on their health...and we see too many falling into the same trap...

They fly all over the place, jumping from one thing to another.

The shortest and fastest way to your goals starts with just one thing.


It's nothing special. No special equipment is required. No insider secret knowledge is required.

All you need is a PLAN. But it's not just a copy-and-paste plan. We're talking about the plan that's right for you.

It's like typing an address into your phone's maps app.

Several different routes are usually suggested to reach this address.

Some are faster than others... some have tolls... some have heavy traffic... and offer more scenery (or bumpy roads) along the way.


There may even be a route you never thought of before!

Which route to choose depends on which route is the best for -- YOU. Because they all reach their destination (bad roads, toll roads, etc.)

Did you know that reports of anxiety have increased by 25% in the last few years?

This number is actually thought to be low because anxiety manifests itself in different ways in different people...and it's not always easy to recognize it as anxiety.

It can manifest in several ways:

  • restlessness and agitation
  • headaches and unexplained pain
  • difficulty concentrating
  • fatigue
  • sleep disturbances,
  • worry, and the same old thoughts replaying in your head.

One of the best natural ways to relieve anxiety almost instantly is exercise, especially workouts that get your heart rate up.

It works in a few different ways to help you feel better, and studies show it rivals some prescription meds. (Pretty awesome!)


Here are a few ways exercise helps battle anxiety:

  • It can get your mind off of whatever is making you feel anxious
  • The very act of moving stops your muscles from being so tense
  • Getting your heart rate up boosts anti-anxiety brain chemicals
  • Plus, it activates the part of your brain that helps control the amygdala (Your amygdala can trigger feelings of fear & anxiety)
  • PLUS … exercising regularly can help you become less vulnerable to strong emotions


The more regular you are about getting exercise, the better your anxiety-killing results.

For the best results, find activities that get your heart rate up AND that you like doing – and keep doing them.

It could be an after-dinner walk … a dance class … or going for a bike ride!

And … if you are experiencing a serious anxiety, be sure to tell your doctor.

Just another reason to move your body or get in that workout!

The 3-Step Excuse Buster

The 3-Step Excuse Buster
Has this ever happened? You’re wrapping up your day and thinking about making dinner after work … but as soon as it’s time to start cooking, you start to think:

  • I’m too tired
  • I don’t know what to make
  • I’m too hungry to wait that long
  • I have too much to do
  • I’m stressed
  • I really just want to binge some Netflix

Now you’re tempted to give in and hit the drive-thru (or make the takeout call).

We get it! By the end of the day, making dinner can seem like a LOT of effort… in your head. BUT … before you let any of those excuses take hold, try this:

  • Excuse Buster #1: Take back your power from the voice in your head.

Acknowledge that YOU control your actions – not your fleeting thoughts or whims.

The choices you make and the actions you take TODAY play a direct role in your TOMORROW … moving you closer or farther away.

This is a very empowering mindset shift for any area of your life.

  • Excuse Buster #2: Ask yourself: what’s REALLY driving your excuses?

It’s probably not because you’re tired/cold/hot/bored/confused/busy …

but because of “stinking thinking” (aka limiting beliefs).

Some examples: You might think that it’s only a matter of time till you’ll somehow fail (again) towards your goals … that you won’t really get the results you want … or that deep down, why are you even bothering to go through the motions with this “healthy” business, anyway?

TIP: As soon as you recognize the stinking thinking, CALL… IT… OUT!!

Remember Excuse Buster #1 – you are in control. Don’t let negative thoughts or beliefs get in the way of what you want!

  • Excuse Buster #3: Get support! Having someone to hold you accountable and who supports your goals can make all the difference.

That way, when you feel your excuses threatening to take over, you have someone to help keep you on track.

Find a workout buddy, tell your friends or family about your goals, or work with an experienced coach.
